Squirrels (4–6 years)
Our youngest section learning through play, games and making friends.
We help young people aged 4-14 learn new skills, build confidence, and make lifelong friends through adventure and fun.
We are Dringhouses Scouts, based in the south of York, bringing fun and adventure to more than 300 children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 years old. We are one of the largest of the Scout Groups in the City of District which supports more than 1000 Scouts. Whether you're a parent looking for your child to try something new, or a young person ready for adventure, we'd love to hear from you. We run weekly sessions for Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts - with activities ranging from camping and cooking to coding and community service. The Group has been running since 1929, for more than 60 years in its current form, and we are incredibly grateful for all the support we receive from the local council, St Edward the Confessor Church and the local community as a whole. We’re run entirely by volunteers who give their time in many different ways, from being leaders running the meetings and events, to supporting the Group as trustees, or just helping out occasionally. All our volunteers receive the training they need to fulfil their roles, giving up their own time for the benefit of our community.
